Analytical Informatics Announces License Agreement with the U for Advanced Diagnostic Radiology Report Classifier

BALTIMORE and SALT LAKE CITY (August 18, 2016) – Analytical Informatics announced today that it has signed a license agreement with the University of Utah to develop and commercialize an advanced tool for radiology report data mining and discrete classification called the Report Classifier system. This innovative software technology was developed at the University of Utah by members of the Department of Radiology’s informatics team, including Justin Cramer, M.D., Matt Morgan, M.D., and Tony Jones.

Under the terms of the agreement, Analytical Informatics will commercialize and distribute the Report Classifier system, which was developed to work with the company’s existing AI Bridge analytics platform. The Report Classifier system provides discrete analysis of millions of diagnostic radiology reports, identifying patterns of occurrence and providing researchers with powerful analysis tools to understand a wide array of topics, including clinical disease management, medical imaging research and business process management.

“We’re very excited about the potential of the Report Classifier system and its potential to positively impact the industry.” said Chris Meenan, CEO of Analytical Informatics. “The system will allow clients to securely search through millions of diagnostic report records, and identify patterns not easily seen with traditional methods. We’re excited to announce this new license with the University of Utah and are looking forward to being able to further develop and distribute the system.”

Analytical Informatics will share more details about Report Classifier in addition to demonstrating other quality software tools at this year’s RSNA Meeting November 27- December 2, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois.
